Away from the buzz of Victoria, life along the Saanich Peninsula is relaxed. Less than 30 minutes from Downtown, the area is a prime destination for those who are looking to dodge busy traffic and the rush of city life while still enjoying the wealth of amenities in the area.

The Saanich Peninsula real estate market offers a mix of urban and rural properties. If you are looking to purchase a single-family home, you'll find a good portion of detached houses here fall into the luxury price bracket. Buyers with families may find that the freshly developed tract homes by the Victoria International Airport hold the greatest appeal. These houses feature expansive floorplans that often include a secondary suite in the basement. These spaces can be dedicated to visiting family members, or often can even be rented to students in the area. These houses also feature luxury touches such as quartz countertops, backyard pools, and expansive rear patios.

There are also numerous waterfront properties available along the peninsula. The estates along Tod Inlet constitute some of the most prestigious properties in the area. Many boast their own private docks, unbelievable views of the coastline, and floorplans that exceed several thousand square feet.

  • Homes in Sidney by the Sea belong to a charming seaside community where the scent of salt is always in the air and the blocks are made up of charming boutiques, local businesses, and a surprising number of one-of-a-kind bookstores. In fact, a collective of six book stores in the community make up an area known as Booktown.
  • When it comes to transportation, there is no better place to be than the Saanich Peninsula. On the northernmost point of the peninsula, Swartz Bay ferry terminal offers service to Vancouver, Salt Spring Island, and the Southern Gulf Islands. The Victoria International Airport can also be found nearby. As British Columbia's 2nd busiest airport, this airport services flights from one end of the continent to the other.
  • Perhaps most famously, Saanich Peninsula is home to the renowned Butchart Gardens. Established in 1904, by the Butchart family, the land was initially used as a quarry where limestone was mined. However, after the plot was stripped of its limestone, Jennie Butchart transformed it into Victoria's most impressive garden. The grounds feature hundreds of different blooms, trees, grasses, and bushes. Intricately landscaped around water features and the historic house on the property, it is certainly one of the city's largest tourist attractions.
  • The Saanich Peninsula is also the site of agricultural development. Six wineries and a cider farm are located in the area, and there are a number of u-pick farms throughout the region. In fact, come October, the peninsula is the place to be for pumpkin picking and corn mazes.
