Duncan Real Estate Market

Duncan is a small community with many beautiful parks and gardens, including Centennial Park and Kinsmen Community Garden, where many have purchased homes overlooking these locations, providing them amazing views of the natural areas and native wildlife. Duncan Community Amenities

Since 1985, the city has also been known as the "City of Totems," featuring one of the largest totem pole collections, including more than 40 totem poles. Additionally, the Cowichan Historical Society and Museum offers free totem tours during the summer.

Living in Duncan offers residents many opportunities to explore, discover, and learn at the parks, historical sites, museums, and shopping centers. The Trans-Canada Highway connects the north and southern points of Duncan, offering residents an easy way to get around town, and is about a one-hour drive along the highway to the city of Victoria. Public transportation provided by BC Transit and the Cowichan Valley Regional Transit System provides connections from Duncan to surrounding areas, including commuter bus service to Victoria. Residents looking to visit or commute to the city of Nanaimo can take the Nanaimo Regional Transit System, which operates daily (except Sundays) and includes a stop at the Nanaimo Airport.

Duncan School Information

Duncan's public schools are managed by British Columbia's School District 79 Cowichan Valley, including Alexander Elementary School and Cowichan Secondary School. Queen Margaret's School is a private secondary university preparatory school, including a co-ed junior high school.

A regional campus for Vancouver Island University is in North Cowichan, offering Bachelor of Education degree programs and continuing education courses.
